UNIVERSITY OF YAOUNDE 1 AMONGST 30 BEST UNIVERSITIES IN AFRICA

Now, we are getting there. The African University summit has released a list of the top 30 African Universities and Cameroon's University of Yaounde 1 is in the list. University of Yaounde 1 occupies the 29th Position. The 1st and second position is occupied by South Africa's University of Cape Town and University of Witswaterand. Uganda's University of Makerere is on the 3rd Position
To be included in the table, an institution must have published a minimum of 500 research papers in the five-year period (2009-2013) assessed, with at least 50 papers per year. The ranking is established based on the ratio of citations received by an institution’s publication output between 2009 and 2013 and the total citations that would be expected based on the average of the subject field. Here are list of other top universities https://www.timeshighereducation.co.uk/…/top-30-african-uni…

AYAH PAUL: BUEA IS GOD THE FATHER, DOUALA IS GOD THE SUN; YAOUNDE IS GOD THE HOLY GHOST FIRE

It is not uncommon for Cameroon politicians to associate biblical names to politicians or political events. This time around it's the turn of Ayah Paul, leader of the opposition party PAP. Here is what he posted on his Facebook Page today June 27th (post in pidgin)-Don't ask us about the God the Sun or God the Son. What do you think of this? .

"We saw the other day how whe the capital moved from Buea through Douala to Yaounde. We said that this movement corresponds to God de Fada; God de Sun; and God de Holy Ghost Fire. Who no know say Buea de cool like every good father? Who is no know be aware that too dat Douala de hot Sun soteh dem hopen gate over, water comot wash all shity? .. And na ye whe fire soso born Yaounde whe na de Holy Ghost Fire; soteh come born money finish, plus evidence.Mark you that I have not said na ye whe Yaounde come get every fifteenth house na stoley building within thirty yar. No put tork for ma mop! I have not even said that de National Assembly sef-sef na always the 5th floor de catch fire “a cause de court circuit”. Nor have I said de floor whe money dey.So commonplace lack of commonsense! Shegeh!"

SDF’s IRON LADY VOMITS OUT- EXPOSES FRU NDI AND HIS SDF GANG

There is fire on the mountain. The Iron Lady (Ms. Nya Margareth) of the SDF, Cameroon’s main opposition party, was dismissed from the party last week.  However, she has spared no effort in blasting the party leader and his close aides. She says Chairman Ni John Fru Ndi has a secret agenda to remove all those who had been in the party at the very beginning. She is asking why the SDF doesn’t have a secretariat and is still being hosted at the compound of the national chairman. “How do you work with a man and he turns around and he bites you. If he as to be removed by the convention as the chairman would the next chairman want to carry the party to his compound?”  She says the SDF has to change and people cannot continue to meddle with the party. To her, Fru Ndi has fallen short as a leader.

She further lamented on how unconstitutional it was for the Presidency to fund the medical treatment and burial of the late wife of Ni John.

Ms. Nya got fired from the party when she began asking pertinent and sensible questions. By the way she doesn’t consider herself sacked and if that is the case, Ni John would have to compensate her.

What is you take on this? Is the SDF turning to a non-democratic institution or are some of its founding members or followers just exaggerating? What message have you got for the SDF?

HAPPY NATIONAL DAY-Live stream and History of Cameroon's National day

O Cameroon thou cradle of our fathers....Land of promise, Land of Glory!

Here is a link to a live stream of the events https://www.prc.cm/fr/prc-tv-live-fr-stream and some history of Cameroon's National day. Enjoy the celebrations, send us some pictures and thoughts

Cameroon's National day is celebrated every year on 20th May. However, Cameroon does not have a single date of independence. This day commemorates the ending of the federal government of erstwhile Cameroon and creation of a unitary state by Ahmadou Ahidjo, the first ever President of Cameroon
French Cameroun, which was a United Nations Trust Territory, gained its independence on 1st January 1960. On 1st October 1961 the Southern Cameroons, which were held by the British, became a federated state with Cameroon from a Trusteeship administered by the British. The national government opted to choose 20th May as the National Day in order to mark the abolition of the federal government system and formation of a unitary state by the first President of Cameroon, Ahmadou Ahidjo. In 1972 the Union Nationale Camerounaise, led by Ahmadou Ahidjo, adopted the constitution of the United Republic of Cameroon. The constitution was later amended under Paul Biya's leadership and Cameroon received its present name.
